The Lacey and Larkin Frontera Fund was started in the year 2012 designed to fight for migrants especially Hispanics who were facing a lot of immigration related challenges, especially with law enforcement officers.
The founders of the foundation had been victims of the same law enforcement officers when Michael Lacey and Jim Larkin journalist who were also founders of the village voice media was arrested by the Maricopa County sheriff and arraigned in court where they were charged and the suit later dismissed.
They would then go on to sue the sheriff together with the country and a settlement of over three million dollars paid out to them which they dedicated to the fund and fighting for what it stood and believed in.
The National Network for Immigrant and Refugee Rights
